Browns@Texans

The Houston Texans battled with the #1 wild card team in the AFC, Kevin Stefanski's Cleveland Browns. The Texans led by rookie QB CJ Stroud and rookie Head Coach DeMeco Ryans dominated the Browns 45-14, scoring 35 unanswered to end the game. The Browns coming into the game had what many considered the league's best defense, and they were toasted by CJ Stroud, Nico Collins, and that Texans offense. While I was surprised by the outcome, I wasn't totally shocked like some.

CJ Stroud led the league in passing yards per game and touchdown to interception ratio and has had a remarkable rookie season and that continued in the postseason against Cleveland. He wasn't the only one who had an outstanding game for the Texans. LT Laremy Tunsil kept Browns' star DE Myles Garrett in check and LB Christian Harris had a massive game. Offensive Coordinator Bobby Slowik's game plan was amazing and it increased the chance of him being a Head Coach on opening day in 2024. If the Bears keep Justin Fields and trade the #1 overall pick or draft Marvin Harrison Jr, Then the Commanders either by trading up to the #1 pick or staying at #2 could draft Caleb Williams, and if your Josh Harris I like the move to hire Slowik and see if he can repeat the same sucess with Williams that he did with Stroud. For the Browns this defeat takes nothing away from what Joe Flacco has done, to even get them to the playoffs alone was remarkable. The question for the Browns is will DeShaun Watson ever return to that same form in Houston.
